Eyes ahead…

“Eyes ahead, companions:  Life is Now.”  –Jonathan Galassi

Such a simple straight forward quote to remind all of us to be present in the moment now.  Enough said.

Thanksgiving Tablescape

Happy #Thanksgiving!

“Showing gratitude is one of the simplest yet most powerful things humans can do for each other.” –Randy Pausch

DECORGANIZE

Happy Fall and Thanksgiving!  Out of the goodness of my parent’s hearts (and I am guessing to help me keep busy since I lost my job a couple of weeks ago), they invited me to tablescape their dining room table for their annual Thanksgiving dinner.  Thank you Mom and Dad!

My goal was to utilize what decorations Mom and I had, without purchasing anything.  I gathered all of my fall decorations, and Mom gathered her decorations.  The only new items purchased were the fresh flowers and a set of classic metal napkin holders.  That’s it!

Here’s a full view of the table tablescaped for Thanksgiving.

Life is meant to be lived…

“Life is meant to be lived, and curiosity must be kept alive.  One must never, for whatever reason, turn his back on life.”  –Eleanor Roosevelt

Living is opening doors, being curious is to want to learn what is behind the door.  Walking away from the door could mean turning a blind eye to life.  I think all of us have heard when we get bad news that a door opens for something to learn or for an opportunity.  The aqua colored door in the picture seemed fitting to represent this quote especially with the living beautiful tree in the glass reflection.

If you’re going to do a thing…

“If you’re going to do a thing, you should do it thoroughly.”  –Muriel Spark

I have always done this well in my real job.  “I say what I do, and I do what I say” is my motto at work.  Full circle for setting expectations and delivering results.

Decorganize not so much.

This time around I doing as much as I can to do Decorganize thoroughly.  As you can see, I have been consistent in my postings/blogs and trying new stuff too.  I have rebuilt my website – from http://www.decorganize.net to http://www.decorganize.com.  Completely different look and feel.  Seriously.

I would have to say…feedback, the good, bad or the ugly is helpful.  (The comments get sent to me without being posted on the website first – FYI.)

The feature picture is the underbelly of a bridge, and at this point, I think the groundwork for Decorganize has been laid.  The inference here is a person building the bridge must do their work thoroughly to keep the bridge standing and to be useful.  I will continue to work at Decorganize and learn social media thoroughly to be more effective and get the results I want.  🙂
