This project was not a staging one…it was an entire house transformation! I was honored when I was asked to help a couple make their selections, run their ideas past me, go shopping with them, and whatever else they needed.
The couple were working with contractors who specialized in renovating houses. They trusted the contractors, however, were overwhelmed by the choices available and did know what their style was. Their goal was to ultimately update from the 1990’s and put some color into their house.
This Case Study 5 will walk you through the House Transformation journey by showing the Before and After pictures side by side. Very exciting!
Entry Way
BEFORE: As you can see, there was a smaller door and a window in the entry way
Now, there is a dramatic entrance with the larger door flanked by the side windows and a bold color choice
Stairwell
BEFORE: Wooden railing from the 90’s clearly outdated
With the new wrought iron railings and the wood added to the steps really creates a statement
Kitchen
BEFORE: Window above the sink and the short wall with the stove.
A larger window was added and the short wall with the stove was removed.
BEFORE: Window above the sink and this picture also shows how small the kitchen is.
Here you can see where the stove used to be and a pantry was added.
BEFORE: This wall was removed and an island was added to open up the space.
This picture shows where the wall and refridgerator used to be. Amazing how open it is!
This picture captures how large this kitchen is with the addition where now the stove is located at.
Another shot of the beautiful kitchen!
Master Bathroom
BEFORE: Double sink vanity with the 90’s lights will be replaced by an off white creamy vanity and granite to keep the bathroom light and bright
Finished vanity with darker cabinet dividing the sinks
BEFORE: Toilet area and linen closet will be updated with cabinets that match the 6 paneled doors the homeowners previously picked out
Finished toilet area with a peek into the rennovated closet
BEFORE: Shower that is beside the sink to be reconfigured for the sunken tub
Shower with the stunning glass doors and walls installed
Master Bedroom Closet
BEFORE: Typical wire shelving found in most closets
The built ins really add a lot of functionality
BEFORE: Typical hanging bar
The built ins split the hanging space to effectively utilize all the space
I hope you found this house transformation as spectacular as I do. Still, every time I walk into this home, I am wowed by the hominess feel and functionality while having such high end finishes.
